Hey all,
I noticed some connection issues lately on my Pixel 7 Pro running GrapheneOS. It does not pick up 4G network anymore and sometimes loses connection altogether. When I do receive mobile data, it seems to be either 5G or H/H+ that I'm receiving. And it's a lot more H/H+ than it did before. I used to pick up 4G quite often when it did not receive the 5G network, so with the downgrade to H/H+ I notice a lot slower internet speeds on the go. Sometimes it's not even capable of loading YouTube videos at all.
This issue started about 1,5 week ago.
Now there are two things that have recently changed:
- My Dutch phone provider changed their name to Odido. But next to the name, I believe the network should be the same. Although I do hear stories from friends that also have Odido, that ever since the name change, they have a bit poorer connections themselves.
- I installed quite some GrapheneOS updates lately, including the one that brought Android 14.
I wanted to check here if it could be a GOS issue before checking with my provider.
Am I the only one here that noticed this connection issue? And could it be that I have missed a setting somewhere? (Settings -> Network and Internet -> Sims -> Odido -> Preferred Network type is set to 5G. Also note that I have a 2nd (e)SIM from a different provider, which has mobile data disabled, in case it's revelant.)
Cheers!
