I know this has already been debated, but now that we can test our browser with privacytests, Vanadium really seems to underperform, especially compared to Brave.
I used Vanadium because I followed @matchboxbananasynergy advices, but we can not ignore all those "tracker content" and "Tracking query parameters", which my Vanadium mostly does not block, even with IVPN's AntiTracker (OISD Big list)

Vanadium only resist two tests in the fingerprinting tests results...
document referrer ans window.name don not pass the test too.
There is also 4 red crosses in the state partitioning test...
Brave passes almost the tests.

[deleted] if vanadium is better for security it will also be better for privacy. for anonymity you need the Tor browser without changing the settings. brave does not disable JIT. brave just turns off the ads and you feel like you have better privacy. Vanadium allows you to blend in with the mass of Chrome users, and Chrome is the most widely used browser in the world, it seems to me. my personal opinion and that it is necessary to use vanadium for everyday research, and what I do when I do research for medical or other very private things in the same genre I use tor on whonix, not on Android . that's my opinion.

So... My question is : are the privacy benefits of Brave substantial ?
(And is Brave that much less secure than Vanadium...?)

Brave is a good and well developed option for privacy, I would say better than Vanadium.
Vanadium is better regarding security.

Yes security enhance privacy.
Yes, anonymity is achievable via Tor, but I want privacy, not anonymity.
Certainly, Brave doesn't just make you feel safe. Privacytests.org attests to this.
Vanadium surely makes you blend in with Chrome users, but thuis does not prevent Vanadium from resisting the fingerprinting measures tested by Privacytests.

Just my $0.02..

The only way to have privacy (anonymity) is by using TOR. Not a big Brave fan as they tend to sell us too much on its benefits. On my GOS device I use Vanadium but have also installed MULL whereas I can use add-ons to help block certain things... In general though I fully understand that unless I'm using TOR - for the most part 'they' know who I am. (on an additional note - VPN doesn't help with anonymity either)
