A certain other Mobile OS developer (who shall remain nameless) currently partners with a US organization (Mobile Citizen) to offer unlimited 4g/5g home internet in exchange for a yearly membership fee. To the best of my understanding, they are registered as a charity and so this service provided through an agreement with T-Mobile which is intended for nonprofits, schools, healthcare, etc.. can be offered to the public as a reward for their membership "donation". This rakes in millions per year from internet memberships alone according to their annual reports.
Has Graphene given any thought about doing something like this? Not sure what the complexities of this would look like, maybe the GrapheneOS foundation would need to formally register as a public charity in the USA. Just curious if any consideration was given to this since it's been proven to be a massive source of income which would obviously help and expand the project.
