show text file on lockscreen

Is there a way to display a text file on the lockscreen so I can have my shopping list on my phone at the store without constantly having to unlock it whenever I take it out of my pocket? I'm interested in hearing about any method people are using, whether it's a system functionality I don't know about or a specific application you've installed.

You can always put it on a notepad then screenshot it and set it as the lockscreen

Three main options:

Use an app that let's you put custom text in a notification, so you can see your list as a lockscreen notification (there's dozens of apps that due this.
Go to Settings > Display > Lock screen > Add text on lock screen.
