What can Malicious Applications even do?

I know that viruses still exist, but even if they escape the sandbox, would deleting the app fully remove the virus? What's the best course of action if you think you installed a malicious APK.

Depends on the profile it was installed in. If it was a secondary profile, consider it untrusted and delete the profile. Be careful with data transfer from the profile in case the malware has the ability to export malware through a USB for example.

If I have reasonable suspicion that I had installed malware I would start with a full factory format of the device then reset all passwords that were stored in my DB. Depending on the situation, I may never consider the device trusted again, but it really depends on the severity of the situation.
