I would like to share my (perfectly working) GOS internet connection (WiFi / LTE / 5G) with my laptop via USB cable (USB tethering).
What I do:
- unlock my Pixel 6a
- connect it to the laptop via USB cable, on system console I get 'ugen+ at uhub0 port + "Google Pixel 6a" rev 2.10/5.10 addr 4' message
- go to GOS Settings > Connected devices > USB Preferences and in the 'Use USB for' section switch to 'USB tethering'
- go to GOS Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering and turn 'USB tethering' to ON
- laptop disconnects and reconnects ugen1 at uhub0
What I expect but do not get:
- I was hoping to be able to use urndis driver and "ifconfig" it to connect to the internet via GOS phone.
- I was expecting seeing something like "urndis0: using RNDIS...etc..." at uhub0 message in system console but it is not there, just the ugen1.
Note:
I am using Mullvad VPN. I also tried to "split tunnel" Tethering system app but to no avail.
Please, any ideas what I am doing wrong or missing on the GOS side?
