This may be an inaccurate response, so anyone, feel free to correct me. There are location spoofing apps like Fake Traveler, wherein you can download the app from FDroid, select the your location and the interval at which you'd like it to be reset. Then, go to Settings>About phone>Build number and tap on build number 7? times, until it says you're now a developer. Go back out of About phone and go to Settings>System, tap on Developer options, and way down toward the bottom, there is a section for Location and an option to Select mock location app. Tap on that and it will show you the app you downloaded. Select it and you're done. I don't know how well it works, or if it works well enough to interfere with things such as updates. Someone who knows much more than I do about GOS would have to chime in on that. Hope that's helpful. Aside from that route, I believe there is no way to change your location. You can, also, just turn off location in Settings>Location. Again, I don't know if that has any bearing on updates.
