Using Xoami Mi Band 7 and Gadgetbridge

Hi everyone. I bought a used Xoami Mi Band 7 and now I'm trying to use it with Gadgetbridge. I'm familiar with the whole auth key process but I'm running into an issue now.
To receive the secret auth key, I neet to add the mi band to my xiaomi account via the Mi Fit app. In the Mi Fit app, everything is working fine: I'm logged in and my device paired/synced. However in my xiami account, I have 0 connected devices. Even if I access my xiaomi account within the app, it says that there are no devices. Freemyband cannot detect any devices either.

Has this something to do with the sandboxed play services? Any ideas what I could do? A workaround I'm thinking about would be to use a stock android phone and pair my band with my account on that phone.

I use a mi band 7 with gadgetbridge. I have set it up for a long time so I won't remember all the details, but I can tell you I got the auth key by reading the app log files. I remeber typing the command exactly as in this guide did not return the auth key, but I found it just by scrolling through the log file and reading.

I dont think so, as I dont have play services installed but managed to set everything up correcly. I created an user profile exclusively for this, created the xiaomi account using a simplelogin email, installed the official app (whatever it is called), got the auth key and deleted the user profile in the end.

4nu4b Thank you, that actually worked! They should include this into the wiki, I spent at least 2 hours trying the other methods they described but none worken, neither on a stock android phone.

One follow-up question that just came up because I couldn't find any info on that. Can I delete my xiaomi account afterwards or remove the device from my account? I don't quite understand what happens with the data. Or is that unnecessary cause the data is only stored on my mi band/google pixel?

haQ I haven't deleted mine, but certainly it would be no problem, since gadgetbridge does not use the network permission, your band and gadgetbridge would have no reason to stop working

Also note that I saved my auth key on my password manager, so I wouldn't depend on using my account on the official app to get the key again if needed.
