DeletedUser29 You wouldn't have a link to how it works so I can learn more?
It is simply logical. When you refresh your feed, all the channels you have subscribed to are called. So in theory google can create a profile of you, or recognize you again and again based on your subs. even if only thumbnails are loaded (when you open NewPipe), that's still relatively unique to your feed and traceable to you.
Therefore, I have now done the following. I currently have two groups of subscriptions. I want to make more to reduce the number of subscriptions per feed update. I have turned off thumbnail loading so that only what i want is updated or queried by google. so only individual groups of subscriptions are loaded as I update groups and not the entire feed. When I am done with a group I change my IP. So I try to have multiple groups of profiles and hopefully Google does not connect them.
Hope this is understandable or you can follow it somehow.
N1b do you have a threat model to share?
Not sure. I try to avoid that big companies like Google create an exact and precise profile of me. With what I've written about it, I try to keep it as small as possible what google can find out about me. there is so much more than just the IP address that is leaked, but also your watch history, your feed, your preferences, your language and probably more.
pixhell Why not use LibreTube?
All this will not change if you use NewPipe or Libretube, because your feed will always be unique to you, or a dummy identifier that google probably creates for you, or some kind of shadow profile, but that's just speculation. but I could well imagine that.
