I wanted a note app with markdown, online images, syncing, but encrypted so if company is breached or in bed with other EvilCorpInc my private diary about why I dream about cheese won't be leaked and laughed at.
Maybe encryption doesn't matter to you, maybe you want more than markdown or simple clear text, maybe you want to self host.
