Hello, I am new to GOS, and love what I hear about it. Never used it, and plan to get one as soon as I work out a few things.
I have some questions,
TLDR; I should be asking, how can I acquire a secure and anonymous service provider? I get that the hardware is secure and GOS is secure and private, appreciate your thoughts.
I plan on getting a pixel 6a and my goal is to have a phone with a secure and private communication service. What do people use to acquire an anonymous call and text service? Is this through cellular - sim and esim? What can I achieve with these sim cards for US area? Also, what about the wifi service? How do folks acquire an anymous service provider? If possible, I would like to get a functional but private pixel 6a with GOS but without KYC.
I don't know much about cellular services and the laws and how the companies / tech operate here in the US, and I feel that would force me into a rabbit hole I can't really get into right now. Is it possible to have my needs met so soon to the release of the 6a?
I wonder if I couldn't just go on a road trip, stop at best buy and pay cash on a new in box 6a and later at a motel with my laptop, install GOS. If I was looking for 4G, I could even get a sim card with a prepaid service provider like simple mobile perhaps ? But what about 5G? I am actively looking for this information, I appreaciate your time, tips, experience, and thoughts. Please feel free sharing your issues concerning trying to disassociate your device to your ID as best you can.
I plan on using the device to route everything, if not most of my needs through TOR, Im aware of mullvad too. But I don't think that works with cell towers, right? To achieve anonymity, would I have to sacrifice SIM service and be best with selectable wifi routed tru TOR? Can you make phone calls or send receive sms?
I wont be using this device with identifiable uses, like social media, streaming youtube, or financial stuffs, It will be secured and hardened and then I have a few uses for it and it will mostly be used as needed, occassionally. I am aware that asking for a service provider that respects users privacy may be asking a but much these days, does privacy even exist with cellular service providers? I am aware of the AweSim, but don't AT&T use DPi on all their networks servers?
