How do you do adblocking?

I'd like to keep using Vanadium, but it doesn't have an adblocker. Given that I also have NordVPN running permanently and their Threat Protection Lite isn't a complete adblocker, what are my options?

Does anyone use AdGuard?

I recommend NextDNS as Private DNS and also as great Adblocker.
And because I don't like asocial media like FB, Insta and Meta at all, I really appreciate the blocklists that effectively block FB and other privacy enemies.

This can all be managed with the UI of NextDNS on your web browser. :-)
And because it is DNS-based, you don't need any software or mobile app, which saves a lot of energy on the smartphone (battery life!).

Mullvad and IVPN with adblock activated here, but if you want control, NextDNS is a big recommendation.

I use private DNS

Settings > Network and Internet > Scroll down to Private DNS > enter private DNS address > dns.adguard-dns.com

I love my pihole @GrouchyGrape but I don't think I can use it for my phone since I always have VPN on.

I have a couple of Pi-Holes set up at home. While out and about I use Wireguard to VPN back into my home network and then use the Pi-Holes as my DNS resolvers.

There are 2 choices: Private DNS or a VPN service app. Private DNS with a filtered DNS service is simplest. VPN service apps can provide a local DNS resolver with configuration in addition to optionally supporting a VPN. These apps have varying feature sets. Some of them do support both a VPN and features for monitoring/filtering traffic locally. Most of these apps either provide a firewall, a custom DNS resolver for another kind of encrypted DNS, a custom DNS resolver with DNS filtering or an actual VPN but they can provide all those things as options together. We can't provide app recommendations for these apps but this is the best approach to providing these things.

GrapheneOS do I understand correctly that you consider filtering by VPN apps better than using Private DNS setting?

If so, is there any specific reason?
