Any Joplin users having issues with syncing in the background?

I am using Joplin on a Pixel 6a with GrapheneOS (latest release).

Joplin takes a long time to sync (set to sync to the file system, shouldn't really take a long time to sync) and if I exit the app before the sync completes, the sync fails. I have battery usage set to Unrestricted.

Is there any way to let Joplin run in the background to complete the sync?

doffactory do you have Google Play Services installed? I don't, and I am wondering if that might be a factor

Do any of you folk use the APK from Joplin site? I noticed updates seem to be different depending on where its installed from.

I had the same problem with my Pixel 5 and frankly gave up using on Joplin on my phone.

This has been documented as a issue on Github and the only solution was to downgrade to version 2.5 https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/5779

I can confirm the downgrade worked on my phone, and solved the local sync issue, but over time thought having and old version on my phone wasn't a good idea.
