chipotledonut It takes about two hours to charge from 0% to 100% with phone turned off.
These are normal charge times. You should be getting to 50% in under or around 30 minutes, but from there it takes another hour plus to full charge. It's not great but not bad by any reasonable measure.
Signal drains more battery than Whatsapp (NO GOOGLE SERVICES). I barely use whatsapp but still, it takes arounf 12% of my battery on my last full charge. 1 day 20 hours idle, 8 hours screen time. Why Whatsapp is more battery friendly and still delivers instant notifications?
At the risk of veering off-topic, WhatsApp website APK doesn't seem to run a foreground service unlike Signal (not sure how they deliver timely notifications not an Android dev) but Signal foreground service is pretty efficient on my Pixel 6a at around 3% to your 12% with same hours and light usage). I'd wait another week before making any sweeping conclusions.
