turmoil2750 sorry to harass developers with this, but this is literally my biggest beef with vanadium. is there any chance it might come to vanadium sometime?
treequell turmoil2750 Websites which use the relevant API will have background media playback, and you'll see media controls for that in the notification shade. Websites which don't have background media playback do that by design, since the don't use the API. It's up to the website to choose whether that's enabled or not.
turmoil2750 treequell thanks, i never heard that. can you give an example for one that supports the api? im looking at youtube for instance and i don't see anything in the notification shade
turmoil2750 turmoil2750 nor can i click on play to resume playback in the notification, if thats what you mean
233328 turmoil2750 can you give an example for one that supports the api? It works on odysee.com for example, you just need to resume playback from the notification once the tab has gone in the background
treequell turmoil2750 For background media playback, websites have to use the MediaSession API: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/media/session/MediaSession With regards to YouTube, this feature is reserved for YouTube Premium subscribers. You can use NewPipe should you wish to not pay for YouTube Premium.
turmoil2750 treequell thanks, ok, now i understand the whole situation now but do you think we could have background playback for sites that don't support it sometime in the future? like in brave and firefox?
