Google Camera App crashing since update.
Is anyone experiencing the same on a Pixel 6 Pro? App downloaded anonymously from Aurora Store. Since latest update it will not open at all. Error type: Crash.
Thanks in advance.
Photoguy for GCam to work without issue you need to install GSF (Google Services Framework) from our GrapheneOS 'Apps' app in your app drawer. Do you have it installed?
Removed the Camera tag as this is to reference the GrapheneOS first party camera app.
Photoguy Try uninstalling and reinstalling. My GCam works fine now.
I would look up what version of the app you have in settings = apps = Camera then look up what version is on the Play Store. If you don't have the Play Store installed on your device then do a Google search for it. This is the version I have and it's working. version 8.6.263.463689965.13
Fhggyy5767 I have P6a with GSF installed and the latest GCam. Running the latest GOS beta. GCam hasn't opened for me in quite some time. Wonder what the incompatibility is?
MetropleX Ahh, true. If the author doesn't want Google apps can he/she still use GCam Provider app?
Fhggyy5767 You can use Gcam service provider instead of GSF but there isn't really a good reason to. It conflicts with the GSF app ID, preventing you from installing GSF in any of your profiles. GSF also works with no permissions and provides better compatabiity than Gcam service provider does.
Fhggyy5767 Google Camera is a Google app. Use the official GSF release mirrored in our app repository. It's a regular app and it doesn't make sense to avoid it. It's not a good recommendation to use something else since it will cause problems for users.
GrapheneOS I use the Google apps provided by GOS. I wasn't sure so I asked. Makes sense.
