[deleted] Those are called search engines. There are a few you can choose from or you can search the web with your search engine of choice and then manually add it as a search engine in Vanadium.
Grimlin [deleted] oh OK so it's safe to use google or duck duck go as long as its used in vanadium ? Thanks
Grimlin [deleted] safe meaning whats recommended by grapghine ? When I set up graghine it automatically uses duck duck go in vanadium
Grimlin [deleted] I'm confused . so how do u use vanadium without google or duck duck go ? I don't see options
[deleted] Grimlin pick your search engine from Settings > search engine and then type your search query in the address bar and enter
Grimlin [deleted] ye I've seen that u can add multiple search engines on settings . google bing etc but is that how its meant to be on graphine ? It must use one of those search engines ?
treequell Grimlin You can add additional search engines. Open your preferred search engine in a new tab, perform a search, and then it should appear in the list of search engines in Settings. Was there any particular search engine you had in mind?
Grimlin treequell I'm easy I don't really limit my self to one search I was just curious by choosing google on vanadium as search engine . that's perfectly fine to use like that ?
treequell I removed one comment in this thread, even though I believe it was made in good faith. Just a gentle reminder to try our best to be supportive of all members of this community

treequell Grimlin Using Google as your preferred search engine on Vanadium is a perfectly valid choice. You may wish to disable the "Improve search suggestions" toggle in Vanadium > 3 dots > Settings > Privacy & Security.
treequell Grimlin You're welcome! Glad to hear you've been enjoying GrapheneOS the last years. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I can also recommend using the Search feature here. There's a wealth of information to explore.
Grimlin treequell thanks I'll be a life long member . sorry what is do you mean by search feature here ?
