Easy way to Migrate all Google Photos?

I've successfully set up GrapheneOS after having to return my first phone to find one that was "truly" unlocked. I have it pretty much set up, but would love to get photos moved. I have Google sandboxed in it's own user so realize I probably can't use Google Photos in my general user account.

I exported from Google using the transfer feature and they are in dozens of files that Google created, along with JSON files. I am guessing this will take a few hours over USB so before I do it, am I correct to think I can just copy all to the "Pixel 6\Internal shared storage\Pictures" directory? Will the standard GraphenOS Gallery app recognize everything?

Suggestions on better Photo and Gallery apps would be appreciated as well.

rodeobri You could install Google Photos in your secondary user profile. I wonder if Google Photos has a cloud to local sync option. If so, you could save all your photos on your device that way, and then transfer all your photos to your owner profile via a USB drive.

rodeobri I use the gcam with seriously revoked permissions and simply gallery pro for photos

you can use google checkout to export photos right? Download all your photos as they were when uploaded, and edited copies.
I'd set up a googleshit profile and keep photos for those editing features, just revoke location access and net access when not needed.
