Severely misleading setup screen - deleted my esim

So due to what is essentially carelessness, I was unaware that my phone was on the lock screen as I threw it into my bag and my duress triggered or maybe it was wasted I don't know, my phone got wiped.

As I'm going through the setup screen to get to the seed vault restore screen it was telling me something about internet connectivity it wouldn't connect to my mobile data and I saw what literally looks like a toggle switch with the words turn off SIM. There is a confirmation upon which you hit yes you have now deleted your eSIM.

Please tell me this is not intentional because this doesn't make sense and now I'm even more frustrated that I have to go somehow get my E-Sim back on the device while praying I had a recent seedvault backup and that it actually restores properly

There's nothing misleading about it. I can understand the frustration but, like you said, you are in this situation due to essentially being careless.

[deleted] the wipe was caused by carelessness, the word choices used in the setup screen has nothing to do with the previously mention faux pas. I had no hand in designing the setup screens, seedvault, or the restore process.

Why does turn off mean delete in this case?

There might be a chance your eSIM is not deleted (factory reset can be done with or without deleting eSIMs).

Try the following: In your phone app, dial ##4636## (the number spells "info" on T9). Go to Phone information, disable DSDS and re-enable it. Restart GOS just to be sure. With a bit of luck your eSIM might reappear.

Unfortunately by the time I saw this I had already gotten through All the setup steps and processes to reinstall my carrier app sign in and redownload sim.

However, it seems as though you may have been on to something and potentially would have been correct because as I went to go enable or select the SIM all of a sudden my original one starts to pop up but it wouldn't let me use it. I'm assuming because they probably deactivated it with the second when they issued

Well I thank you and I will make sure to make note of this I feel as though my initial question has not been fully addressed; why are the word choices used on this particular setup screen in a way misleading as technically speaking yes it does shut off the SIM but there's no way to turn it back on normally unless you happen to know this code it seems.
I was unable to find anything under network and internet options
