Hello,

My installation seems to be stuck at ./flash-all.sh
It's been at least 20 minutes and the phone screen has done nothing but display the same Fastboot (device state: unlocked) the entire time. Am I correct in thinking it shouldn't be taking this long? The instructions say to not interact with the phone at all during this step, so I'm unsure of what to do next? I don't want to end up with a $500 paperweight right out of the box. I'd tremendously appreciate advice.

Thanks,
Jason

Addendum: FWIW, I'm using linux Mint, and last year I was able to install on a Pixel 6a without any hiccups.

    Thanks,
    Jason

TurboEncabulator Have you installed the UDEV drivers on Linux? Not just downloaded, but installed?

    @[deleted] ,

Yes, the UDEV drivers look to be installed. I had troubles with the web install method last time, but, in retrospect, perhaps I should have given that another try rather than going the command line route right out of the gate this time around. I suppose my main question at this time is, since flash-all.sh has seemingly done nothing all night, is it safe to kill the shell and restart the process. I don't know what else to do. Thanks very much for your reply.

    SOLVED!
When I tried to flash using the web installer, it gave the error message that I didn't have the factory images downloaded. I did download and verify them via CLI, but it just didn't seem to take. Very odd. Anyway, once I downloaded them via the web installer, the flash worked fine. Thanks to all who took the time to read and reply.

    Cheers,
    Jason

Yeah the web-installer is very easy to use for people far less tech-savyy than you, which is why it takes full control over all the verification and terminal stuff and expects you to use it exclusively for the whole process. If you want to download and verify the image yourself (e.g. to flash older versions of GOS or flash it on many identical devices), you'll have to go the full manual process.
