Enabling 5G on Pixel devices

There is this guide that enables 5G in non-5G countries, and it actually works, but it requires root.

Is there another, more secure way to enable 5G, or is this my only option?

If a country does not have 5G, that is a Google decision not to include some features in those areas where there is no official Google support. In some countries in Europe, for instance, you can buy Pixel phones from resellers but you won't be able to use 5G even though the phone and carrier support it on different phones.

This would be nice to have added in GrapheneOS and I would pay for it to be added if there's a price. It's very useful and would be beneficial to the users.

There are some Android ROM's that have it enabled without root and 5G works in unsupported countries.

It would be nice to see GrapheneOS also allow 5G in unsupported countries. They are able to do it without root.

If you dial ##4636## there was an option to select country not sure if that will change anything ?
