I just moved my second phone line (personal, I have been using esim for my professional line) with a physical SIM. This does NOT WORK WELL! I have texts that may need to go one way or the other, and even checking 'ask every time" does not work - it says "no preferred sim selected for sending SMS messages'. I have to go to settings and make one line THE sms number, then it will send. It doesn't seem to follow the previous number (ie a text TO one number seems that it should automatically go out using the same one). This does not seem very workable for me.
It also would be helpful to be able to rename the line to 'personal' & 'work' instead of BOTH simply saying 'Verizon'. One is in BLUE, one in GREEN, but that is not a good way to do it.
EDIT TO ADD: a LONG press on the 'send' button does bring up both numbers, but then pressing one of them simply yields the same message. This appears to be a bug in the messaging app. Is this thing really NOT ready for dual sim? I'm on a P-7 and if it doesn't work any better than this, I may end up picking up a cheap trash phone & give up on security for one line. It simply isn't usable as a dual sim if this is as good as it gets.
This is my first disappointment with the phone/OS. Is the implementation on stock android this bad? I cannot see anybody actually using a dual-SIM setup if they actually want to be able to frequently use both.
