Hi there
yourmother question 1:
Web installer says:
" For the Pixel 6a, OEM unlocking won't work with the version of the stock OS from the factory. You need to update it to the June 2022 release or later via an over-the-air update. After you've updated it you'll also need to factory reset the device to fix OEM unlocking. "
i dont understand this.
after i update my pixeland set activate OEM locking, i need to reset the phone again? than i can start all over... what kind of logic is this?
It means that with the Pixel 6a, you have to update the OS, and then factory reset. These are the extra steps you need to do on the Pixel 6a before you are able to enable OEM unlocking. Once you have managed to enable OEM unlocking, you can proceed to the next step of the installation process.
yourmother question 2:
web installer says:
"On Windows, you need to install a driver for fastboot if you don't already have it. No driver is needed on other operating systems. You can obtain the driver from Windows Update which will detect it as an optional update when the device is booted into the bootloader interface and connected to the computer. Open Windows Update, run a check for updates and then open the "View optional updates" interface. Install the driver for the Android bootloader interface as an optional update"
i dont see the option "View optional updates" in windows 10.
now what? can i ignore this?
You can't skip this step when installing from a PC running Windows. The fastboot drivers are required to complete the installation. With your phone in fastboot mode and connected to your Windows PC with the USB-C to USB-C cable that came with your Pixel 6a, run Windows Update. You can find Windows update by searching for it from the Start menu.
