Simple sms query

So I'm using simple SMS messenger from droid, I'm using it on a user profile. I'm not getting notifications. I have to open the app in order to get the messages through.
Battery is already unrestricted and app is set to default SMS

Any ideas?

L8437 Also when using the graphene os messages app, it sends 2x SMS of the same message in user profiles. So every sms I send is sent twice and driving people mad lol

Could you clarify whether you are using your two SMS apps in the owner profile or a secondary user profile?

Do you have Play Services installed? A lot of the time that's how apps deliver push notifications. Although the F-droid version might not have that at all, which could mean it doesn't support it. But I'm mostly guessing here. Either way, if you already have Play Services installed you'll probably have better luck asking the Simple devs.

treequell hi so I tried to have simple messenger as the default app in all profiles. But the SMS doesn't come through , in the user profile, unless I open the app.

The reason I wanted simple messenger was to see if the SMS would stop duplicating, but I've tried stock messages, simple messenger and Google messages, and all 3 of them send duplicate SMS from the user profile lol

L8437 I suggest that you try using your SMS apps in the owner profile, and seeing if you face the same issues. The owner profile is the first profile you have to unlock after restarting your phone.

Simple SMS messenger is known to only work properly in the owner profile. You should receive notifications for messages there.

Would be interested if you have the same issue from stock SMS app with multiple messages being sent when you run it from the owner profile.
