Will GrapheneOS prevent police from remotely activating my camera, microphone?

Hi,

I am new to this community and slowly learning more about privacy in general. As some of you may have seen from recent events, "France passes bill to allow police remotely activate phone camera, microphone, spy on people" (https://gazettengr.com/france-passes-bill-to-allow-police-remotely-activate-phone-camera-microphone-spy-on-people/).

Would the features of GrapheneOS prevent such remote activation and spying from happening?

If you are accused of a crime punishable of at least 5 years of jail, the French State might use any means to activate your camera and microphone, whatever the OS. GrapheneOS might help, but is not almighty against a state level actor.

In my view the OP did not ask about legality but about technical possibility of remote activation on GOS

Well, by the same logic, governments are not almighty to turn remote mic or camera on IF there are no techicals means for it in the OS.

I think OP's question is valid - is remote control of mic and camera part of ASOP and backed into all devices and if the answer is yes, can GOS disable that?
