[deleted] Is there any practical difference between uninstalling or disabling an app as far as being sure the app isn't running / doing anything? Context: privacy Thanks
Oggyo App disabling is a very cool feature. Disabled app: doesn't run until you re-enable it doesn't use any battery (can't run in background, too) preserve its settings and data (vs. uninstalling)
[deleted] Oggyo Thanks, so if it's already running and I disable it, it also kills the app immediately?
User2288 [deleted] No i don't think so. Disabling and "force stop are two different things. Disabling i think doesn't stop the currently running process. That's how it is on other android devices. You have to do both.
User2288 [deleted] Yes. Once you disable and reboot the app will not be running and will not start again until enabled and run. Just try and see.
[deleted] Disabling an app stops it immediately and you can observe it in Settings - System - Developer options - Running processes. No need to reboot the device.
