Fastmail without GPS

Anyone use fasrmail without google services ?
My testing a while ago determined that notifications where very delayed .
Now that I've spent some time with gos I want to rearrange my profiles .
I'd like to use the fastmail app but my alternative is k9 mail .
Anyone have other options to recommend or a workaround ?

I tried the vanadium app as well and no luck.

It's been working for me. I have the native app in my non-GS profile. That said there's a few things to consider:

The fastmail app randomly marks emails as read without ever notifying you (been going on for 3 years with multiple open tickets)
Their servers are down at this exact moment
Their notifications are often delayed to all clients and always have been
I'm a paid user FWIW
