Skip media tracks with volume button

First of all, thank you for providing such a professional and sophisticated project. I am using GrapheneOS for 2 days on my 6a.

There is only one feature I am missing, coming from custom ROMs. I am used to hold the volume up or down buttons to skip or rewind the running media tracks, while my phone is in my pocket. Without this feature, I need to get the phone, out of my pocket, into my hand and skip the track from the lock screen. This is sometimes impossible, e.g. when riding a bicycle or doing workouts.

Please consider implementing this nifty little feature. Thanks!

Bump. Is this feature really this unappealing for the community? This feature is standard on most android phones, since years. I am no coder, but would be willing to donate for someone's work on this implementation.

GrapheneOS is an AOSP fork focused on security and privacy. Every line of AOSP code that GrapheneOS changes must be re-patched for every upstream release. The GrapheneOS team incorporates upstream releases very quickly. As a result, there is limited time for maintaining local changes that are not related to security and privacy.

Given the curent development team, there are many things "appealing to the community" that are not feasible now.

If you were to hire a developer to add this feature to AOSP and Google accepted it, then multiple projects downstream from AOSP, including GrapheneOS, would benefit.

True, plus, this isn't helped by ear buds, speakers not having the capability to +/- volume and skip tracks (because the Pixel has no audio jack) unlike wired connections which has it on the cable itself.
