Confirm - New Pixel 6 Pro - install current GrapheneOS now and upgrade later

I see NOT to upgrade my new device to Android 13 - got that.

However - is it 'safe' to install the current GrapheneOS (android 12) - and then udpate to GrapheneOS (android13) when it is available?

Any reason why I should just wait to install GOS - Android 13?

...(trying to minimize the amount of time on running non-GrapheneOS on this device. (just showed up today - wow - it is beautiful - excited to setup... though I am still waiting on my Sim Card to be delivered (I only have an old one from my Pixel 3 - so I understand it is best to use a new one!)

Yes. Should be perfectly safe. I am on the beta release channel and already have GOS 13. It upgraded without much trouble, but admittedly I did have to factory reset to get my ability to VPN over cellular back for some reason.

daijizai Cool! I'll look at doing that when my SIM card gets here! Unless GOS 13 is out at that time...

Assume that GOS 12 will OTA update to GOS 13?

I am on Pixel 6 Pro and have also upgraded to the android 13 beta. No issues at all except one instance of Google play services crashing

Standardwaste So you were on the current release of GOS 12.1 - and then upgraded.

How did you upgrade - OTA?

Then - I'm going to go ahead and immediately install the current GrapheneOS on my new device - won't even setup the carrier yet... then when my SIM card comes I'll setup Google FI in my work profile - and go from there. Exciting!

lcalamar yes you can enable OTA beta channel updates after enabling developer settings.

Standardwaste I'm on beta channel and didn't have to enable developer settings... Not sure that step is required.

Yes, just go to system|system update and select the channel
updating now to beta
