Astartes I switched to Graphene OS about a month ago and a really enjoying it for the most part. The only thing is, for some reason I can't use Uber on my phone. I spoke with someone from customer service and they said that using my phone violated their ToS. What is the best way to circumvent that?
spiral Astartes Can you clarify what you mean by "can't use Uber?" When you launch the Uber app does it alert you that you've been banned or something like that? Or, will the Uber app simply not load?
SoulKeeper Astartes Uber deleted my 3 years old account after using it on GrapheneOS and now I will have to create a new account.
bayesian Astartes use the PWA. Been using that for ages without any problem in multiple continents. You don't need an App for everything
Astartes spiral I don't have the app, I just use my browser. I can open my account I just can't book a ride. When I enter the pick up and drop off destination it says an error has occurred.
Astartes spiral I forgot to mention I also use NextDNS and a dedicated VPN. Not sure if that might have something to do with it as well.
Astartes Crystal Yeah I looked around before posting this because it seems like no one else has had a problem using it.
spiral Astartes I use a VPN 24/7 and have no trouble with Uber or Lyft, although I use those services as Apps and not within a browser. I don't have any experience using Uber in a browser so I'm not sure. If I were you I'd try using auber in a browser without a VPN. NEXT DNS should not present any problems.
Astartes spiral Hi there, it's been awhile but it still isn't working. anything else you recommend? I'm going to try making a new account shortly and see if that effects anything.
wilhelmp1 Yep. I use uber in brave browser, it works perfectly fine. I do this with a bunch of services that have this issue which I used to have apps for. I keep them all in one folder on the main screen. Most of them work just as good in web and I don't need to have 20 different non open source apps installed, updating on my phone. Depending on the site and security you can just store the credentials in the browser as well and its a one tap sign in.
frank_the_nomad My Uber is giving me issues too. It loads fine for a moment and then goes to this screen randomly: I can usually get a ride after restarting the app multiple times and trying to get the ride before the janky page loads.
treequell frank_the_nomad Hi there, Uber should work fine on GrapheneOS. Do you have Google Play Services installed, and have you given it the network permission?
warnod Despite not being able to see your screenshot, I too have the problem of the app starting normally for 1 second and then leaving the "home screen" to a map with an unrelated adress predefined as start. I can not retrieve my bookmarks there either. I am not sure whether this has always been the case, since i rarely used it in the past.
islandrabbitran warnod I am experiencing the same behavior. I tried enabling exploit protection compatibility mode and nothing
