This is something I've noticed from day one of using my phone. I used the proprietary version of Android that was pre-installed on the phone for only an hour, so I can't say whether this behavior is present there as well.
If I leave my phone alone for a time (say 30-60 minutes or longer), it will go into some sort of deep sleep mode. Even if I tap the screen 7 or 8 times, it won't wake up. Rotating the phone so that it is upright (i.e. using the gyroscope) does not wake the phone either. I usually use the power button to turn it on when this happens, but tapping it 15 or so times also works. This also appears to kill apps like KDE Connect's socket connection to my computer. I don't know if notifications still come through, because I pay so little attention, but I suspect they do.
My questions are:
- Is this intended behavior? For example, to save battery life?
- Is there a way to turn it off? I want KDE Connect to work.
As for my KDE Connect settings, you can see those here: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/4613-kde-connect-unnpairs-after-2060-minutes-of-inactivity
