Hi,
I hope someone can help me

I have 2 minor problems
1/ The Aurora store. It no longer opens anonymously. This is the 4.1.1. version. I see that there is also a 4.2.2. version, but when I want to update it says "App not installed conflected with an existing package". This is the same for F-droid. I am not a specialist in such field. But for now, I can no longer download apps through such channels. I don't use anything from google either. Anyone solution or tips and tricks?

2/ When I go cycling I normally use an app from Wahoo to plot my routes. However, install works, but when I want to continue it always closes automatically the app. Normally android this poses no problem.

Hope someone has an easy solution to this fantastic OS!

MorananaroM Aurora Store isn’t in the best position right now. I would suggest taking a look at issues in their Gitlab repository.

I'm using apk to install my apps, and aurora store to update them.

Me too, but I can't get past the home page (Aurora APK) where I have to choose between Google login, anonymous and anonymous (insecure). That's where the APK keeps getting stuck.

Because servers are down because Google is blocking anonymous accounts. For now, you should create an anonymous temporary Google account to log in with Aurora.

MorananaroM I'm logged in before the server is down. That's why I still can use aurora for updates. Click on any app's play store link. This will open aurora. Then hit back to see updates tab

Is anyone discusssing non-Google-play alternatives to Aurora Store that are private and secure? Would downloading APKs from apk repositories and verifying their signature prior to install be considered private and secure?

grateful_gos_user if nothing happens with aurora store and gos doesn't come up with their own store sometime soon ill be installing google services. Don't have the time or cant spare the effort to learn how to double check codes and builds and whatever else is necessary to make sure they are safe.. irl is tiring as it is.. privacy has its limits and that much inconvenience is my limit!

alexandros I wouldn't count on GrapheneOS to develop a replacement for the Aurora Store. An initial [setup wizard] (https://twitter.com/GrapheneOS/status/1423701982578085888) with a handful of apps is all they're looking at. So if you're looking for a set-it-and-forget-it setup, you can't beat Play running in the Owner profile. It's still a massive upgrade over Stock seeing as these are just normal apps on GrapheneOS, but also because there are Google Play SDK and libraries embedded in the Play Store apps, regardless of where you get them from so it's not a huge jump from that to installing sandboxed Play.

How do you suggest creating a burner google account? It seems like they force you to use a phone number to create an account now.

We all have different reasons for using Graphene on our daily drivers. For the sake of usability I am slowly changing my mind about using sandboxed Google Play. Bear in mind my threat level is low. I think as long as I will use non-Google apps for my main services such as email, calendar, cloud storage etc. and use built-in features such as permission control, storage scopes and other, Google will be able to collect only small fraction of information as opposed to stock OS. I don't really mind that it knows who I am and in some situations it's actually important that it knows who I am, but at least I will know it doesn't peek over my shoulder by far as much as before. And that is an improvement, isn't it?

sethm Through any Android device it should be able to create an account without the phone number.

Got it to work. Reinstall Play Store and Services. Restarted phone. Turn off any always on VPNs. Then when creating an account you can bypass the phone number step. Thank you!

It seems that the May 30 Aurora Store 4.2.3 update , is now working again after all. Also anonymous. Thanks for your input.
