hello,
I'm trying to use my GrapheneOS without Google services and 99% of the apps work correctly for me.
I have found that if I leave Google Play Store and Google Services Framework disabled and activate only Google Play Services with no permission, the remaining 1% of apps that were giving me problems also work.
However, I can't figure out what the implications are with this last step and that is why I only activate Google Play Services in this way once in a while (when I need those apps).
On NextDNS I don't see connections to Google at the time I activate Google Play Services (without permissions) and yet I still get more apps working this way.
Could this be a good compromise to suggest for those who need certain apps?
In addition to this then I wonder: might it also make sense to have Google Play Services "scopes" as is the case for storage and more recently contacts etc?
So as to trick apps that require Google Play Services but not really be dependent on it.
