Suggestions for phone security in airports?

At the airport my boarding pass is almost always on the phone and at times I have to hand the unlocked phone over so the boarding pass can be checked or scanned. I'd rather not hand over an unlocked phone. One solution is to screen-shot the boarding pass, set it as the lock screen image, and disable the large time display allowing the boarding pass to be scanned on the locked phone. Any other suggestions? Aside from getting a printed boarding pass, which is becoming increasingly difficult.

Travel with a cheap android phone ($50). Tether when you need mobile data. You can share files via USB or sFTP.

Open your boarding pass with your PDF reader or Gallery app. Then swipe to your "Recent Apps" overview (or press the right button at the bottom of your screen, if you use 3-button navigation). Press the upper icon above the respective app that shows your boarding pass and select "Pin". Then you can hand your mobile to other people without them being able to leave the currently open app.

For this to work just make sure you have enabled App pinning in Setting -> Security -> More security settings -> App pinning.

Indeed this approach is recommended by the App Pinning settings screen. For me I think App Pinning makes more sense if handing my phone to a friend, and a user profile makes more sense for travel.
