Well, its something LineageOS 20 can do, but Graphene cant. I dont understand why.
Its very useful, because:
- You can share internet with others, without revealing your ip adress to them.
- If someone uses your hotspot for filesharing, the vpn offers some protection.
- You can connect a device, that you dont trust with your real ip. So Graphene serves as an isolated gateway.
I used to use my smartphone as a hotspot for my laptop, and then i dont even need to setup a VPN on Windows, and Windows doesnt even see my real ip. Cant to that anymore with Graphene.
If you dont want to mix traffic of the owner profile with the Hotspot, just create a separate user profile for the hotspot.
