I can reproduce on 2 different Pixel 7s, running 2023050500 release. Google Play compatibility layer fully setup and running. No VPN, no Private DNS, connected to mobile network. Apps installed from Google Play store. After a clean install of app, with the Exploit protection compatibility toggle ON or OFF, doesn't matter.

3 apps I've noticed so far: Yuka (io.yuka.android version 4.30), Poshmark (com.poshmark.app version 8.12), and TV Time (com.tozelabs.tvshowtime version 9.2.0+2023041805-store).

All 3 apps hang/freeze on the launch/opening screen, just showing the app icon on a colored background. They do NOT crash.

At least 2 of them (Yuka and TV Time) had worked fine around 2 weeks ago. No change to the phone configuration since then, other than OS and app updates.

Should be able to reproduce simply by installing any of those 3 apps and trying to open them.

Thanks

That was the issue. Enabling native code debugging fixed it.

I checked this forum and the docs but couldn't find this. However, knowing what to look for now I see lots of similar threads.

It was sort of buried in https://grapheneos.org/usage#banking-apps. Might be worth making a more visible "Common App crash/frozen troubleshooting steps" section with this and the Exploit Compatibility Mode toggle.

Anyways, thanks a lot for the quick response
