Porting apps from old OS to GOS

Hi there,

Is there a way to transfer installed apps from my old phone (Android, not GOS) to GOS?

If there are apps I can't find on any of the alternative app stores (f-droid, Aurora, droidi-fy), and are only on the Google app store, how should I go about installing them?

You'll need to install your apps manually, and restore any backups of app data manually. For example, Signal has a service so you can quickly move your chats to your new phone.

If you decide to use the sandboxed Google Play on GrapheneOS, you can install it from the GrapheneOS Apps app that comes with the OS. It's entirely optional and GrapheneOS will never include any proprietary Google apps in the OS.

There's no tool to simply transfer the apps from your old phone to your new one on GrapheneOS.

I think for some apps, but not all, adb backup & adb restore might work. But I can't provide directions, let alone assurance.
