battery drain on airplane mode

My Pixel 6a is brand new. It runs grapheneos since the begining and works perfectly fine.
But when I put it on airplane mode, the battery drains at 10% per hour. (mostly CPU)
Any suggestions how can I identify the issue ?

minweb It's almost certainly caused by a broken app you have installed. You should check which foreground services you have running (active apps) in each profile along with which apps you've granted battery optimization exceptions. Apps can still drain a lot of power without either. The OS can't easily determine what's draining power but it does offer basic stats. Apps near the top of that list may be draining most of the power. The percentages aren't at all precise and can be dramatically off.

There is something very wrong somewhere. My cpu usage on my 6a after 13hrs is 7%.

Airplane mode should decrease battery drain, with the radios shut off.

I actually had the same problem with my Pixel 7 Pro. I ran clean setup (absolutely no apps installed, no SIM-card, airplane-mode always active, Wi-Fi on) for a week and a half. And saw the same thing, but only the first 4-5 days. I assume that the battery needs a few carges/discharges before the battery-indicator gives a correct number. Now that I have started using the phone more, it seems like the battery lasts longer.

After several weeks the problem does not seem to recur despite the use of the airplane mode.
The problem does not seem to be correlated to this mode and frequent restarts of the device gives it an excellent autonomy.
