On my pixel 6 I'm able to enable airplane mode and still be able to use wifi calling, but on my 4a 5g it says that error. Both are airplane mode / connected to wifi / wifi calling enabled.

Why does the Pixel 6 work but the 4A 5G doesn't with same sim card?

Something else that's interesting I think: In airplane mode + wifi calling, It will allow me to send/receive texts on the 4A 5G, but it will not make or receive phone calls.

I guess clearly it's a hardware difference between 5a and 6? Can't imagine how else it would work differently on two fully up to date GOS with same sim card, or could Carrier block it from Device to Device just by switching Sims?
