Folder permission issue ?

I bought sympleza dictionaries on Google play store when I was still using Google account on my android phone. But two years ago I decided not to use Google account anymore. So I just backed up apk and data of my dictionaries to install them manually on phones without Google account. This worked on stock android and later on lineageos android 13.
But when I moved to GrapheneOS, the installed apk crashed.
It seems the app has not access to Android/data/com.sympleza... Even though storage permission is granted.
Any help?

If this is on 7 series, check if the app is 32 or 64 bit as 7 is only 64 bit
If that's not the issue, try turning on "Exploit protection compatibility" for this app

Try turning on native debugging in Settings > Security
If that doesnt work try turning off secure app spawning.

I'm trying to use the storage scopes to make my app reach its data, but when I enter the folder Android I don't see the folder data. I just see "Can't use this folder" with invitation to create new folder.
Please help

NewUser I think maybe more information is necessary -- for example, exactly which steps you took to install the app and the data.

NewUser I don't know which particular dictionaries you use, but I have checked Sympleza products and they are not really that expensive that you should stick with them 'til you die. If they are giving you grief, perhaps it's time to look for a reasonable alternative, preferably without Google dependencies.

NewUser So you said the app is paid and that you don't use Google services. The reason why app crashes may be, because it fails to check for license (verifying that you have paid for the app). Happened to me with all apps that I have paid for and tried to clone on my device with missing Google services. I am afraid there is no way around that. Like I said look for alternative that is free, preferably open source and would give you similar experience.

I am not an expert on Android file permissions. How did you create the folder and "paste" the files there? That might not have the same effect as if the app had installed the files.

[deleted] no the apps crashes because it cannot find its data. I already used it on lineageos android 13. It was working good without Google account and without Google services.
This issue is due to GOS restriction. I have other apps that are working on Grapheneos, but there folders are not located under Android/data.

de0u it wasn't easy. I had to use fv file explorer. But it worked good in the last 2 years. I just needed to create manually the folder. But it didn't work on Grapheneos

NewUser Over the years Android in general has been tightening up file permissions, and GrapheneOS is even more cautious. I don't know if there is a way to do what you want... maybe somebody else does. If so, you may need to find them on the Matrix channel.

If you do find a solution, please report back.
