Help with installation

I've got an issue with fastboot that I hope somebody could help me with.

So the device is in fastboot mode unlocked and I would like to lock it. On my Fedora laptop when I do 'fastboot devices' I get back an alphanumeric string that I guess is the ID of the device. So everything should be OK? But then when I do 'fastboot flashing lock' I get back 'waiting for any device' and nothing more.

What could be the problem?

hg84 As far as I know Fedora isn't supported as per the installation guide - I knew better, tried, failed, and ended up having to capitulate and borrow a friends Windoze PC. Windoze VM also didn't work for me.

EDIT: I don't recall how far in the process I got, just that I didn't succeed.

Try running fastboot as root.

@trilogy6202 ; Fedora works perfectly fine, the GrapheneOS people just haven't validated it. No reason to tell anyone to panic and use crap.

csis01 Where exactly did I tell anyone to use crap? I said that I ended up resorting to windoze. There are plenty of officially supported non-crap OS.
