The author has a lot of praise for the OS eventhough he gets a few things wrong.
There is also a survey which indicates that 45% of the participants are thinking about switching to GrapheneOS (out of 15k). This is pretty interesting, but as always their might be a bit of reader bias.

There are also a lot of gems in the comment section like

More ignorance. The people that make graphene make no money off of the OS. They are 100% selling your data because there has to be a profit somewhere.

Perhaps someone here has an account and can clear a few things up as AndroidAuthority is a pretty popular webiste and such uneducated comments can leave a bad impression for people that think about to switch.

Yeah, it's just sad that there's so many Google haters that literally have no idea how Google makes money. Google has never sold anyone's data. That has never been their business model. And if it was they would have gotten caught. But yet you can't find a single story on how Google sells data. Just a bunch of disgruntled youtubers who hate Google trying to literally kill their user base. All while we ignore the u.s government in all the data brokers that actually sell our data like when you go to the airport to get a plane ticket, your phone wasn't what soldier data. It was the airline company who wanted more money who used your email to sell your data, but let's just keep ignoring the real issues! Yes, let's just blame big bad Google. The only company that actually gives you control over your data. Lol. Apple could care less about how you use your own data

I thought the article was poorly written, by someone with very little understanding of their subject.

You know its so funny. All this talk about "selling data" .. no one asks who the fundamental "buyer" is that all this extensive data would be useful to. Advertising company? give me a break.
