GrapheneOS x Motorola Razr Fold

eelavan

Hello all, I need help regarding my next phone purchase. I currently have my personal phone which is a Pixel with GrapheneOS and a Samsung S24 Ultra for my business. I am looking to upgrade my Samsung for a Fold and I've been eyeing the Razr Fold ever since GrapheneOS announced its partnership with Motorola. Can I buy the Razr Fold now and expect it to support GrapheneOS in the future or is it lacking the strict secure hardware requirements GrapheneOS demands? Thank you

eelavan the only (supposed) supported phone as of right now will be the Signature 27. Other phones aren't officially supported yet. You should also wait for an official announcement from the GrapheneOS team once support has been fully confirmed for the Signature 27.

eelavan The current RAZR Folds are lacking the hardware requirements and will not recieve any sort of support from GOS. Future Razrs may recieve support (definitely rumored a folding device will be supported) but we will have to wait and see when they are announced.

FunkTastic I mean, the Signature 27 isn't even for sale yet, so...

As others have said the 2 Motorola foldables for 2027 aren't announced/available yet. Sounds like a good plan though.

The previous (2026) models were released around halfway through 2026 so maybe the 2027 ones will be about the same time for release.

Sorry, I can't edit any more. I accidently posted in wrong thread and wrongly quoted your post.

Thanks all for the reply. I'll hold on upgrading my phone till at least end of 2027, worse case I'll skip on GOS for my business phone.

FunkTastic GrapheneOS has explicitly said the Signature 27 is the initial non-Pixel device they're going to support.
