Urban Sports Club app does not scan QR Code

mxhans

Hi there,

I'm using a Pixel 6a with up to date OS and apps to check in to venues (i.e gyms) via the Urban Sports Club app. The app checks my location and when it is close to a partnered venue I access the camera to scan a QR code provided by the venue to check in to do some sports activity. However since today the app does not recognize the QR code provided by the venue. I have the app- and system-log during the check-in-attemps but am not sure what to post or if I need to redact anything. Help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards
mxhans

What's your setting for reading clipboard for this app?

I'm not sure about this, but the toggle is recently introduced, and has this warning about loss of functionality when set to 'Paste only':

Using Paste only may cause this app to stop working. This setting controls whether the app can read clipboard items from other apps such as text, images, and links

The toggle is set to "allow" which is also my system default.

I currently use an app called QRAlarm ( https://github.com/sweakpl/qralarm-android ) that requires me to scan a QR code or barcode to disable the alarm. When I use the app to scan it, it either recognizes it and stops the alarm or doesn't and provides me with no other feedback. When I scan the code with my default camera app I either get the barcode number or whatever the contents of the QR code is. I'm assuming that's pretty much what happens in a similar fashion with the Urban Sports Club app.

It might be helpful for troubleshooting to provide answers to these questions if possible:

Are you getting any error messages that pop up when trying to scan the QR code with the Urban Sports Club app?
Was the Urban Sports Club updated recently?
Is the QR code static or is it something that can change over a period of time (day / week / month / etc)?
What happens if you try to scan the QR code with just the stock camera app (or whatever general camera app you use)? Does anything show up on the screen indicating the contents of the QR code like a website or text?
