Maybe some kind of hardware acceleration is failing or missing? This already made it to the Beta channel, so I guess more people will notice ir.

I just checked the system logs, and I don't know if it's nornal or not because I don't usually read android logs (my guess is that it's not), but apps are being killed constantly by lack of memory. Swap is also full. I don't have so many background apps. Perhaps this is what is causing the unresponsiveness and lagginess. Can other people with the same issue check the system log?

iyanmv Yes I have this too in a secondary profile. It is extremely slow. I restarted but I haven't unlocked the owner profile for the first time and then went into the user profile yet. The owner profile s ~~lock screen~~ is fine after restart (I didn't try it before restarting when it was slow on User Profile).

I restarted and it's fixed on user profile.

For anyone experiencing issues with slowness, stuttering, lag; please disable Developer Options if enabled and reboot.

As for the slowness issue, the developer options are indeed disabled by default and the device has been restarted, but the problem persists.

Do you have any accessibility options like color correction or accessibility services enabled?

Skorp Yes, I have Bitwarden and Niagara Launcher, which have access to the accessibility services.
If I’ve understood correctly, I need to disable them, restart the phone and re-enable them if necessary?

Well for first time ever, this update broke wifi on my Pixel 8a. It no longer connects to my OpenWrt router which other devices can connect to.

I checked the workaround envelope suggested, but 802.11r Fast Transition is already off on the router.

Skorp I don't have developer options enabled, also no accesibility options enabled, and I have reboot a few times since the upgrade.

I'd try at least 1 more WiFi network to double check. Preferably one that isn't open wrt.
or install a fresh open WRT.

I'm afraid to update if its going to cause issues for me

Skorp It’s true that disabling accessibility services improves performance; it’s not quite as good as it was before the update, but my phone is usable now. Thank you.

Norman I did have some performance issues using Niagara Launcher, but they seem to have resolved after a reboot. However, taking a screenshot still takes about 8 seconds.

P10P-No Playservices.
Pixel cam is no longer working properly. Before the update, everything worked perfectly, even without "Special access to hardware accelerators for Google apps". Now you have to activate it, otherwise 2 or 3 error messages will appear. With Special Access, the app works again, but it is very dark, and image processing takes 35 seconds per image.
