GrapheneOS
GrapheneOS You don't understand the Storage Scopes feature. It's an alternative to granting file/media permissions which are no longer requested by the Messaging app. It now uses the system file/media picker interfaces which is a much more private approach than requesting permissions. Storage Scopes isn't relevant to an app using the system file/media picker. You have this completely backwards. The system file/media picker interface will continue to improve and isn't in any way specific to the Messaging app.
Honestly this does make me feel better. But I miss how it allowed me to "allow" only specific images as it was faster for me.
As for the media attachments. When you click on the "+" and then "add media" it takes you to a different screen where there's 2/3 of the top screen showing a would-be camera view, but displays "Allow Camera" similar how android 14's messaging app displayed it. I personally don't want my camera to turn on so it'll stay this way. Was hoping for a whole-screen image selector instead of this camera view that forces me to swipe the image grid up. This is visual mostly, but it annoys me. Can't figure how to upload an image on here outside of a link to better show what I mean, sorry.
