Hey guys, I am in week 2 of setting up GOS and have two questions that I couldn´t find a answer for me in all the threads. Maybe someone who has a deeper understanding can give me the answer and others than me can get a deeper understanding to.
Questions are below.
My main goal with GOS, like most of the people here, is to minimize the data google is getting about me. That works fine with GOS because, so far I understand it, every app is in a untrustworthy sandbox and can´t communicate with an other app without a mutual consent. So I downloaded every app somethere othe but the play store so google can´t make a profile of me with all the apps I use and the usage. So I thought, when every app is in a sandbox, I can use youtube with my account because no app can share data with each other. But you have to log in into google services to do so. When you do that, you automaticly get signed into GPS, because its OS based login, and you have a list of all apps are installed on that phone who uses google play services. So I tried using shelter to install GPS but denied the network permission and then the GPS wont work and I only get my profil picture get shown in the upper right corner, I think the GPS only tooks that from the google service login.
Do I impede that google can make up a profile of me with a google ID and my apps using google play services then I deny the network permission for GPS or is this made up in the background over the google play services anyway in form of machine learning and my IP?
And if I once signed into GPS and a google ID with a profile is already made up, can I delete that if I reset my phone with a new installation?
I would love to have some answers to that! That are, mostly my last questions for the deeper understanding of using this OS and so far I love it! An unbelievable goog OS.
