TechnoLogic654 Bluetooth has to be one of the biggest tattletails of all on every one of these mobile systems including the graphene OS. There needs to be a function that the Bluetooth only communicates with devices that are approved and the rest of the time it remains silent even if a communication beacon is sent to the phone.
de0u TechnoLogic654 Given the design of the legacy Bluetooth protocols (as opposed to BLE), it is very difficult to impede tracking, especially when a legacy Bluetooth device is in use. Turning Bluetooth off is easy and avoids tracking.
TechnoLogic654 True but too many devices actually use Bluetooth and there needs to be a way to make sure that it doesn't have a beacon just constantly going out It could be easily written into the code of the main OS but that's on the developers of graphene if they truly want to make it a secure OS
erikfritzek de0u especially when a legacy Bluetooth device is in use How is it different from offering someone to disable 2G?
erikfritzek TechnoLogic654 make it a secure OS It's weird as it hits also Privacy aspect. Hanging out your unique ID (BT Mac) publicly if you want to improve location accuracy (not in FAQ) is not that pleasant. I understand that argument for smartwatch or headphones may be that those devices are not secure/private either
TechnoLogic654 I agree, all of these items need to be able to put in a disable state, or a monitored state because of tracking, price gouging, location, an basic mass surveillance. It is out of control.
