MetropleX Yes, but not always it seems. It happened to me today again, whereas I updated to latest update while it was still beta and I already had to enable permissions again.
So...

2 months later

Just happened again to me while updating from 2022110600 to 2022111000.

Know affected settings so far:

  • "Restricted" battery app setting
  • Allow VPN to connect (had to disable Always-on, too)
  • Special app access
    • All files access
    • Display over other apps
    • Install unknown apps (fdroid even does not show here)
    • Modify system settings
    • Wi-Fi control

Anything else I might have missed? I have no apps "restriced" in battery so I cannot confirm this.
I know that this is an upstream bug but it would be nice to have a full list of things I have to check to restore my settings.

Happens to me after a couple reboots. No update needed.

Thanks - something that AOSP need to fix asap really, especially, the battery optimisation thing for push notifications.

For me, it happens after reboots too not just after update.

Volen Only problems I'm having right now is this happening and that droid with no info using battery. My screen on time has dropped since that android with no info popped up in the battery statistics

        Yes, I noticed that too.

I first thought its just an uninstalled app that will be gone after reboot, but its still there after reboot and charging to 100% to reset the stats.

Folks, I am not sure if its me being lucky but it seems the latest update fixed the issue?

I rebooted my phone multiple times after the last update and all permissions, including special permissions, battery optimisation and VPN did not change.

Before the update, all these were resetting after each and every reboot.

Can you please also check and post if its also sorted for you?

I'm running build number 2022120300, and I can confirm that all special permissions as mentioned by OP, still get reset both after an update and after a reboot. Certainly not a big deal. But just wanted to mention it as an FYI.

lordiont Thank you for the update. If this is something you're tracking in general, do keep us in the loop.

This next update contains a lot of fixes as part of QPR1, so that may be included in there.

matchboxbananasynergy Thanks for the quick reply! I am indeed keeping an eye on this specific bug and have been for awhile. So, I'll keep you posted of any changes. Hopefully, the next update will fix this :)

Hi @matchboxbananasynergy I just updated my P6A to 2022120700 and I can confirm that these settings:

              • Display over other apps
              • Install unknown apps
              • Restricted battery optimization for selected apps

No longer reset themselves after rebooting or updating. So, it looks like this update fixed these bugs. Thank you!

lordiont Thank you for testing this further! I will mark this as solved for now, but if anybody that is on the 2022120700 update or later experiences this in the future, please feel free to leave a reply here and let us know.

Unfortunately it just happened to me! I'm on TQ1A.221205.011, and it's the first time in 5-6 reboots.

                • Install unknown apps

                • Restricted battery optimization for selected apps

These two are affected in my case.
