PimpinPumpkin congratulations on working on a better alternative to Google maps. People keep asking me to check the traffic on the way to some place and I couldn't really do that. "How does it say we should go there?" Uhh I don't know, the place isn't on OSM.
So we're finally getting a solution. I'd like to give you my feedback here, writing it up on GitHub is a bit of a hassle.
It would be awesome if Google Maps places were available offline, because right now it seems that the offline map is just OSM, which I already have with another app.
In terms of interactions like rotating, zooming and panning the map, it can be laggy at times or not respond at all, necessitating a few tries to accomplish them.
I don't get search results, only things from the suggestions. If something isn't there and I search I get a blank page.
I was fiddling with the "Depart at" option for transit routes and it seems like it doesn't respect the timezone. Not sure if this is because I have my location off, but time should be available from the system anyway. I'm in UTC+3 and for me to see metro trains leaving at 8 I had to select 11.
I hope you can take a look at these. If you need help testing, please let me know!
